Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, My husband is 73 years old, diagnosed with congestive heart failure in August, and for the past 3 days has had a bad chest cold and cough and is in bed. I have been monitoring his weight, blood sugars, and blood pressure/pulse. He has been fairly consistent with readings in low 100/65, but just checked him and he is 140/78, pulse 77. All he did was walk from the chair to the bedroom to lie down again. At what point do I take him to the hospital. How high should his blood pressure get? Thank you so much.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, one should not wait for any symptoms to come ahead but as long as the age of your husband is concern regular medical examination is advisable beside the blood pressure clinical sign is also matter of concern still his pressure should not go beyond the 120 systolic and 90 diastolic, and should not be dyspnoeic, take care.
