Hi Doctor I have just taken 2 doses of cheston tabs (last night and today morning) as i had running nose and slight fever with body ache, but today i noticed a slight congestion in my chest ...... should i contunue with cheston and also take something for the chest cold? thanks
Understanding your concern. As per your query chest congestion and fever along with runny nose is due to severe upper respiratory tract infection. You may have lung infection/ sinusitis/ bronchitis/ glandular pharyngitis. You should do warm saline gargles with pinch of salt water. Take expectorants. Steam inhalation is very effective for you. You should use throat lozenges. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without any delay . Doctor may order blood test , throat swab test or virus culture test. You should get an x ray of the chest. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with decongestants and mucolytic agents . You should take decongestant nasal sprays containing mucinex for instant relief. You should avoid hot, sharp and spicy foods.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
