Suggest Treatment For Chest Congestion, Wheezing, Coughing With Metallic Taste In Mouth
I am a 55 year old male 230 lbs, had these same symptoms ( i dont remember the metalic taste ) about a year ago and was given Cipro for bronchitis, which i took for 5 days until i realised i had a negative reaction to it, but it did get rid of the congestion and cough. I now have some chest congestion and wake up in the morning wheezing and coughing. My coughs sometimes cause me to feel as though I am going to black out. I also have a metallic taste in my mouth when I eat, it is really bad when I eat eggs.
According to your history here it seems to be acute respiratory infection... Here it seems to be brochitis or bronchiolitis like inflammatory condition. By narrowing pathway of respiratory tract dyspnea can occur...
CBC done .If neutrophilia present then infection is bacterial and if lymphocytosis present it could be viral...
Take suitable antibiotic like levofloxacin... For congestion relief short term steroid useful... If needed antihistaminc like benadryl can given.
Steam inhalation helpful in nasal blockage and congestion relief. If bronchoconstriction more then nebulisation can be given with levosalbutamol and budesonide respule.
Take care. If still no improvement i would suggest chest x ray......
