Welcome to Health Care Magic. Thank you for posting your question. I can understand your concern for your father.
Shortness of breath can be due to chest infection , chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) (it occurs more in smokers) , heart failure , cardiomyopathies (dysfunction of the heart), cardiac valvular dysfunction and many more.
He is taking antihypertensive (Amlong 5mg) . So he must be having high blood pressure.
I would suggest you not to waste time and visit a cardiologist. Get your dad's Chest X-Ray ,EKG and ECHOCARDIOGRAM done immediately. The Ejection fraction of his heart is to be known as early as possible. Do not worry. With proper medications , Oxygen , it can be kept in control.
Post any other question. We will be happy to help. Have a nice day. Regards.
