Suggest Treatment For Chest Pain And Increased Heart Rate
I m a 39 year old female and for the past year I overheat and sweat all over my body with minimal activity and my heart rate increases to about 120. No chest pain though. I can be washing dishes or vacuuming the floor and I am sweating all over my body. When I m getting ready for work I have to wait til the last minute to get dressed because I m sweating so much. I also get short of breath with little activity. My job requires me to be mildly active but I can t work because I overheat. I m miserable. I watch the weather to see if I m going to be miserable working that day. I cant tolerate being in the sun. I am about 45 pounds overweight , sometimes I have a slightly elevated blood pressure. I have bipolar disorder and acid reflux but overall healthy.
Regarding your concern, I would recommend checking thyroid hormone levels, in order to exclude a possible thyroid gland dysfunction, which can lead to this clinical situation. Are you taking any medication? I recommend trying to lose some weight too, as being overweight can lead to increased sweating.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
