Hello,

First of all, difficulty breathing and pain in the chest are symptoms that have to be addressed immediately. As you have been on contraceptive pills, there are more chances of clotting of blood in legs or deep vein thrombosis, heart attacks or angina, stroke, increased blood pressure or liver diseases and gall bladder disease.

Your blood pressure reading is to be taken not just once at least 4 times with a gap of at least 1 day between the 3rd and 4th readings. Only then we can comment if it's high or low. But as you have been on contraceptive pills, i would recommend you to meet your gynecologist and explain your symptoms and ask for alternative method of contraception like barrier methods. You may need to stop contraceptive pills.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
