General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I would initially do an ECG to rule out myocardial infarction which is the most common reason for chest pain and also a medical emergency. Once that is ruled out, I would then look into other causes of chest pain which include variety of things from but most common being acute gastritis or acid peptic disease for which simple antacids and proton pump inhibitor medications will suffice.

If my patient has hyper-cholesterolemia only then I would prescribe cholesterol lowering drugs and nothing much would be required at this point. Healthy diet with adequate sleep and exercise will also be advised as they help in preventing future cardiac illness.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
