General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. The chest pain you had could be due to vasospasm of coronary arteries. If there is any sign of hypertrophy in ECG then it is better to continue a angiotensin receptor blocker like telmisartan (ozotel) or olmesartan (olmezest). If your BP is considerably low then can reduce the dose. This drug help your heart against pathologic remodelling. If serum cholesterol is higher than 180mg/dl then statins like aztor should be continued.Ecospirin in low dosage also helps you in preventing coronary blockade. These drugs should be taken for life time but the dosage can be adjusted according to the Blood pressure and cholesterol.Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further query.
