Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i fell asleep with bubblegum in my mouth and i can feel a bit of it in my throat every time i swallow. after doing some research and following what they say to do i can still feel it. i was just wondering if i need a professional or if i can get it out in any other way.
As per your query you have accidentally swallow chewing gum which stuck into your throat . Well sometimes things actually do not stuck inside throat but they make some area of throat to get swelled which appear to us as something stuck into throat due to minor injury to mucosal lining of throat . I would suggest you to do warm saline rinses , eat 1-2 banana in a day and drink warm liquids like tea and coffee . If condition doesn't improve in a 24 hours or create problems like coughing , wheezing and problem in breathing then consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may extract that thing with small instrument under local anesthesia ( laryngoscopy procedure ) and prescribe antibiotics course for at least 5 days . For now you can take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for swelling and discomfort .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
