My one and 1/2 year old broke out in little pinprick bumps all over the body with red blotchy skin around the bombs then the bumps disappear and reappear in different spots all over the body the bumps appear to itch but not painful is it chicken pox or possibly something else
Hello! I have been through your question. According the symptoms and the age of your child that you prescribe I think this is chicken-pox. Usually in the children suggest not to scratch (keep fingernails cut short). Scratching can cause infection from bacteria that get into the skin. You should add baking soda to bathwater for soothing, and may recommend a soothing cream to help reduce the itch. Usually antiviral are not prescribe in this age. If your child has fever use acetaminophen (not aspirin)and give lots to drink and if the fever last more then 2-3 days you should talk with pediatrician. I hope my answer help you.
