Suggest Treatment For Child Having Cylindrical Vision
My child is 3.5 years old and has been diagnosed with a cylindrical power just today. He never complained of any eye problem/irritation and it was by chance that we went for an eye check up as his eye was watery. Both the parents do not have any power in the eye and were surprised to learn that our child has cylindrical power. Keeping in view the age of the child, can u suggest further treatment as we have been told to visit the optometrist after a week for procuring the no. Secondly am worried that it may hamper his sporting ability as he is very fond of outdoor sports? Thanks.
Hi.. Welcome to HCM.. How much is the cylindrical error? If it is less sometimes that may get corrected with age.. If it is more he may have to use glasses.. Cylindrical errors cause more asthenopic symptoms like headache, watering eys and tiredness in eyes etc., rather than blurred vision.. Nothing to worry.. After a proper dilatation test correct power can be known and depending on that your optometrist wiss suggest glasses.. If the error is small don't have to worry about outdoor games.. depends on the sport and the level of his comfort..Don't worry. Encourage him to tell if there is any issue with the eyes.. Hope this information is helpful to you.. Will be available for further queries.. Take care..
