Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having chills and lower back pain. I am on 4 meds for blood pressure but did not take the pills for a day because my blood pressure dropped to low (106/65). It is not back to normal at 125/70. Is the back pain and chills related to my blood pressure or is it something different. I also woke up this morning with my throat swollen and coughing up clear mucus.
You stated that you are taking drugs for high blood pressure. Now there is back pain, chills, throat pain and clear mucus with cough. Chills and back pain are not related to blood pressure. Usually, such type of back pain (if mild degree) may be due to infection in the throat.
Second reason of such pain and chills may be due to urinary tract infection (common after throat pain and coincidence as you are having throat pain). Third reason may be due to infection in the backbone (remote chance). In my opinion, consult a primary care physician and get his opinion.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Het Ram Bishnoi
