Suggest Treatment For Chills, Neck Pain And Stiffness Caused By Severe UTI

I had unprotected sex 2.5 weeks ago. The person who I had sex with just informed me that I he tested positive for chlamydia Gonnerhea. I haven t had any symptoms. But I was in the ER 2 weeks ago due to fever, aches, chills, and neck pain and stiffness. After a urine test and blood work was done the doctor concluded that I had infection in my blood and a lot of bacteria in my urine. I had a severe UTI but my only symptoms were fever aches and chills so I thought I had the flu. He immediately gave me IV antibiotics and then for 7 days afterwards I took Bactrim DS 2x daily for 7 days. Would that have treated chlamydia or gonnorhea if I had it? I haven t had any symptoms or abnormal smells, discharge or cramping. Should I see a doctor anyway and get tested?

Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a urinary tract infection.

I suggest to re-test two weeks after treatment to confirm that you are clear of chlamydia and gonorrhea.

Then another test should be done again 3 months later to make sure the infection did not reappear.
