Suggest Treatment For Cholelithiasis And Fatty Infiltration Liver
my father has 14mm calculi in gallbladder..the impression given in ultrasound is cholelithiasis and fatty infiltration liver. he feels severe pain in upper abdomen when he does not take care while eating. otherwise he does not feel pain. he also have stomach and constipation issues. he is 65 years old. we consult a specialist physician and he advised there is no need to operate..he recommend medicine for 6 days and advised to repeat the lfts and CBC. i am worried about him..what you suggest me?
Hi and thank you for asking on HCM. I read carefully all your father concerns and I can say as follows:
1. You are reporting that he has a 14 mm calculi in gallbladder. If I were his treating doctor I would recommend to remove gallbladder by Laparoscopy. After he will finish antibiotics for 6 days he should consult surgeon for Laparoscopic gallbladder remove.
I strongly suggest that he should be operated because calculi more than 5mm in diameter can not be treated by drugs.
2. With regards to fatty liver there is nothing to be worried. For the moment I would suggest to change lifestyle like: - avoid fatty and sugar foods - use fresh fruits and vegetables - use sylimarine and vit E - increase physical activity
Hope it was helpful to you! Dr.Brikena
