Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, Recently my cousin(24 years old/Male) is diagnosed with Chondrosarcoma. Doctor has also confirmed that disease has spread to Liver and Lungs as well. So no surgical options suggested. Need advise - 1. What treatment options available for him? 2. Will it respond to chemotherapy? 3. I read on internet that - Recent studies have shown that induction of apoptosis in high-grade chondrosarcoma, both directly and by enhancement of response to chemotherapy and radiation, is a valid therapeutic strategy. What exactly is this and will it help? Thanks
To treat chondrosarcoma, you have to get chemotherapy and results will answer if you need to go for radiation or not. Kindly consult a good oncologist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Bhanu Partap, Cardiologist
