Suggest Treatment For Chronic Bronchitis, Rattling Chest And Constant Cough

Hi I have bronchitis symptons this winter (at Melbourne, Australia) and I have a hacking cough which gets intense after I have been out in the cold or talked to someone for over 5-10 mins. I had some rattling in the chest 3 weeks ago for which I was given anti-biotics for a week. After the anti-biotics the rattling is gone and I am sleeping much better. However the coughing hasn t left me and this is week#6 of coughing. I have been taking: - Tilade puffer for 4-5 weeks - Seretide for 3-4 weeks - Ventolin on SOS for last 1 week (Roughly avg. 6-8 puffs a day) I am exhausted with all the coughing and wondering what is to be done next to get rid of it. History: Chronic bronchitis symptons for 4 years (2002-2006) at the university because of allergies to a seasonal pollen from September to January (in East India). Appreciate an advise here.

I really appreciate your concern, if this is the allergic condition and symptom is only cough then it may not need any specific treatment, condition may be self limiting may take little more time to come around, conservative line of treatment can be tried and this includes, steam inhalation, hot drinks, pure honey at bed time, in medicine "Tab Loratadine with Pseudoephedrine" three times in day can be tried, no need to worry about this, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
