Suggest Treatment For Chronic Bursitis In The Left Hip
Give me advice on hip bursitis. I have this left hip bursitis. I am scheduled for left knee replacement in Dec. I have chronic bursitis in the left hip. I ice, I exercise, I take an anti inflammatory, I am careful about sleep positions. Is it possible that the severely worn left knee could cause my bursitis. The hip hurts worse than the knee!
Noted the history of plan for left knee replacement, left hip bursitis, taking treatment for the same in the form of exercises, take anti-inflammatory and so on. Usually the opposite hip joint is more affected when the knee is also affected. Hence there may be a specific cause of left hip bursitis. I would advise you the following: Consult your Orthopedic Surgeon for examination of both joints. MRI of the left hip joint. This will give a proper diagnosis so that an appropriate management can be done. Sometimes biopsy of the bursa gives a specific cause like tuberculosis and so on. Some cases are well treated with medications and some need a corrective management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
