Suggest Treatment For Chronic Constipation When Suffering From Celiac Disease

My son was very recently diagnosed with hsv and has a thrombosed hemorrhoid as well. He is celiac and allergic to many other foods as well. He is currently taking acyclovir to treat the hsv. He is experiencing significant constipation. He is staying hydrated with fluids, mostly water, and taking fiber supplements and maintaining a high fiber diet. Unfortunately, he has not produced a bowel movement in 5 days. If he introduces a rectal suppository, will it only make the thrombosed hemorrhoid worse, as it is already bleeding? Please help.

Hello,

I will suggest you to start with faecal softeners along paraffin wax and docusate or few other drugs. (syrup cremaffin) Hope these drugs are available over the counter. Get thrombosed hemorrhoids operated if they are painful and bleeding actively. Keep good hygiene of anal area to avoid infection into bleeding hemorrhoids. Try to look into the exact cause of constipation. Suppository will make situation worse.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
