Suggest Treatment For Chronic Cough And Tickling Sensation In Throat
Hi, I have a chronic cough that will not go away. This cough happens mainly at night, and I can't get a good night sleep. This cough starts with a tickle in the lower part of my throat, and I cough up heavy mucus. I have started lisinopril meds for the last two months.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of chronic cough and tickling sensation in throat which is due to chronic lung infection and it could be bronchitis. Need not to worry much. I would suggest you to
- Avoid intake of spicy and sharp food and cold beverages. - Drink plenty of fluids and gargle with saline water. - Take diet rich in vitamin C. - Take inhaled bronchodilators and antihistamine drug. -Take cough expectorants as well and use mist humidifiers in room.
You should visit pulmonologist once and get it examined. You should go for pulmonary function tests as well to check exact level of infection and start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
