Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.
Sir, Xanthomas are common, especially among older adults and people are associated with very high
triglyceride levels and clear rapidly when serum lipid levels are lowered. They can also be secondary to
uncontrolled diabetes.
Treating the underlying condition is essential in conjunction with dietary changes, exercise, and pharmacologic intervention. Statins and other medications your are using are effective. Try to discuss with the treating doctor regarding dosage. You need to follow proper diet and exercise.
The diet and exercise guidelines you need to follow are:
Avoid single high concentrated meals.
Small frequent meals more times in a day.
Food high in fibre content like vegetables, whole pulses, fruits, etc.
Ideal combination of diabetic diet should be:--
Carbohydrates: 55-60%.
Fat: 30%.
Proteins: 15-20% (0.8g /kg /body wt).
Fibres 40 g/day.
Take unrestricted:--
Salads (cucumber, tomato, onion, raddish, salad leaves).
Vegetables (cabbage, baigan, lady fingers, french beans, methi, palak).
Fruits (except banana, chockoo or mangoes).
Sprouted beans and pulses.
Marie biscuit (with less sugar).
Clear soups, Lemon juice, Buttermilk
A 40 minute physical activity every day like morning walk, evening walk or a visit to the gym or swimming pool.
