Hello,
You are suffering from oily skin and pimples are coming. You have been prescribed Retin A by your treating
dermatologist. Retin-A is
vitamin A that helps the skin renew itself. It is commonly used to treat acne. It helps to make rough facial skin feel smoother. Avoid using Retin-A if you are allergic to
tretinoin. When using Retin-A avoid exposure to sunlight or artificial UV rays.
Do not apply it to open wounds. Call your treating doctor if skin irritation becomes severe or if your acne does not improve within 4 to 6 weeks. Side effects can be severe burning, stinging, or irritation of treated skin, severe redness, swelling, blistering, peeling, or crusting. Your skin may be more sensitive to weather extremes such as cold and wind while using Retin A.
Microdox LBX, is doxycycline and is used to treat bacterial infections. Take it as prescribed by your treating dermatologist. Its side effects are nausea,
diarrhea,
photosensitivity, vomiting, stomach pain. Not all experience these side effects but some patients who are sensitive do suffer from these side effects.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
