Suggest Treatment For Chronic Headache And Sinus Infection

Hello, I have had a constant head ache for the past 3 weeks. It feels very full and it feels like something is moving around in there. Almost like when your sinuses are clogged up and when u spray nasal spray in there and it moves to clear out. I also have constant nausia and today i had cold sweats. Also my head feels heavy and it hurts my neck to hold up me head. I took an ibuprofen 800 and my head ache did not go away. I never have head aches and i dont know what to think of this. Thank you for your time and efforts, Toni marie switzenberg

Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. According to your history, it appears that you are a case of chronic sinusitis. Headache in sinusitis occurs because of blockade of its opening in nose and thus no drainage of its secretions. It leads to heaviness.

For relief, you should follow few tips

: Avoid cold food/drinks and environment. It will increase your symptoms
: Drink and eat warm or hot food and drinks
: Inhale steam every fourth hour for 5 minutes at least
: Avoid forward bending as it will increase heaviness
: To open sinus opening, you should take combination of Paracetamol-Xylometazoline-Cetrizine after proper prescription. It will prevent allergy, relieve congestion and drain sinus secretions.
: You should take antibiotic course like Co-amoxyclav therapy after proper prescription.

If still no relief, consult ENT specialist. He will examine you for deviated nasal septum, nasal polyp or chronic sinusitis. He may prescribe few tests like X ray or Ct of paranasal sinuses to find out sinusitis, extent of disease. Further treatment will be decided after reports.

Hope it will help you. Thanks.

Take care.
