Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have chronic jaw osteomyelitis and have severe symptoms after four debris removal last year. My question is can this disease break down other parts of your body. Sine diagnosed in 2004 I've had 15 surgeries on my right shoulder and torn long head bicep tendon.
Chronic jaw Osteomyelitis is commonly a localised condition if treated on time and is commonly seen to spread via tooth related infections.. It can however spread to other bones of the skull but is not seen to spread to bones of other parts of body.. So if you have been treating the infection with proper antibiotics and debridement and the infection is under control then you need not to worry about the spread of infection.. Your shoulder problem is not related to Osteomyelitis so it is better to treat it accordingly under supervision of Orthopedician..
Hope this information helps..
Regards.
