Suggest Treatment For Chronic Pain After A Back Surgery
Hi, husband has had chronic pain from failed back surgery for 17 years. For the last two days he has been extremely restless - constantly moving to find a more comfortable postion, doesn t sleep well at night so dozes all day, has rapid short breath and slurred speech. I don t know what to do for him.
It seems that the surgery might have had a bad effect of some of the bones meaning extra growth or malformed bones, that may be compressing your husband's spinal nerves. These nerves supply many muscles including ones that help you breathe or carry pain. This MAY be the reason for his pain and breathing issues. Sleep might be due to his pain.
Or his breathing problems could be completely due to a different cause, perhaps an issue with his heart functioning.
You might have noticed that I have made a lot of 'maybe' speculations. Because we cannot say anything without an MRI or atleast a CT scan report.
Kindly consult a doctor and get initial investigations such as EGC, 2D Echo, MRI SPINE done so that it is clear what his diagnosis is and then you can take a call for the treatment part of it.
