Suggest Treatment For Chronic Pain In Lower Leg With Uneven Length Of Legs

I have pain on the side of my lower right leg. the right leg is about 1/2 inch shorter than the left leg. I already have a heal-lift orthotic for the right, but my podiatrist recommended orthotics for both feet. I cannot afford custom ones, even with my insurance. Would a general orthotic be better than nothing?

Hi

Yes, a general one would be better than nothing at all but the results cannot be guarateed and in most cases we find no efficacy. Also speak to your doctor about hip replacement surgery if your doctor thinks it will help, as the surgery can help to correct the uneven length.

Best wishes.
