My dad has chronic pancreatitis, he has been taking 8 - 5 mg oxycodone pills daily in combination with a 125 mg Fentanyl patch every 48 hours. He receives this medication from the VA Hospital. The VA Hospital has now told him that they have over medicated him and plan to cut this in 1/2 next month and take it all away the following month. He s had these same medications/dosages for the last 14 years. I m wanting to get information on withdrawal as this I have a feeling is going to be extremely severe. He s extremely agitated, he s a war veteran, 62 years old, and no longer works due to the pancreatitis.
