Suggest Treatment For Chronic Pharyngitis And Sore Throat
I have a problem with gagging. My pharyngeal reflex activates for no reason. It is a feeling as if I stick my finger down my throat. This gagging feeling is usually mild but it can become worse and lead to gagging. It is for a year now. Usually drinking water or mint bonbons relieve it. Ive been to several ENT doctors. They said that I have chronic pharyngitis and it can be due to it. Yet when I treated pharyngitis it didnt improve. Also I dont have any other symptoms. My GP said it could be due to GERD and prescribed me Probitor. It didnt show improvement too. And as I said I dont have other symptoms- no acids no stomach problems neither sore throat. And the problem lasts for a whole year. I think its an anxiety cause because sometimes I feel like the more I think Ill gag the more gagging feeling I get and when distract the gagging feeling vanishes. Yet Im not sure if this is true. Can I be sure that the problem is psychological and that there is no organic cause for it?
