Suggest Treatment For Chronic Pharyngitis Despite Taking Antibiotics
Sir I suffer from chronic pharyngetitis since 7-8 months . I also consult a ENT specialist,he had prescribed some antibiotic like cefodoxime proxetil and montelukast,l-cetrizine for 10 days.after completion of courses there was no improvement .please kindly give a suggestion for treatment.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of chronic pharyngitis despite taking antibiotics. Need not to worry. It seems to be due to poor and compromised immunity of body. You should avoid taking outside food and take diet rich in multivitamins. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper checkup. Doctor may order throat swab test and blood test because granular pharyngitis can occur due to bacterial or viral infection. If in this case anti bacterial drugs will not going to work, doctor may prescribe antiviral drugs along with anti inflammatory or refer you to gastroenterologist. For now do betadine gargles and avoid eating spicy and acidic food and beverages.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
