Suggest Treatment For Chronic, Prolonged Cough

I have a cough that will not go away. I did have bronchitis earlier this year, but the cough was present before that and I still have it. Sometimes it is so bad that I gag to the point of vomiting. I am not a smoker and never have been. I take allergy medication because I thought that was the cause, but it still remains.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear patient! welcome to hcm!

If your cough is without secretions or mucous, its not due to bronchitis. There are several reasons for that kind of cough: Inflammation of trachea, larynx, gastroesophageal reflux, Asthma, and the most severe, the malignant diseases of lung.

Id suggest you to do a simple chest X-ray or a CT-scan would be better to exclude anything bad from your lungs, and tell that to your primary doctor.

Take care! I wish you all the best!
Dr Eriol.
