Suggest Treatment For Chronic Rib Cage Pain

Hi, I have had cronic consistent pain behind my rib cage on the left side for the past 2 months. The pain doesn t go away it is there all the time and also gets worse at times, not at any particular time. I have had many test completed x-rays, ultrasounds, CT Scans, blood tests, nothing is showing up in this area. I have found out through the tests that I have Gallstones and a diabeties level of 11. At times it can be a strain when going to the toilet but its usually regular. From time to time I do have deep burps but not all the time. Can you explain any reason for what I am experiencing or offer any help. I am booked in for a nuclear scan next.

Hi,

I feel the pain you have can be due to few causes:
- Just an osteoporosis can give such pain simple testing of setting calcium, vitamin D & bone density test can specify it
- The pain is on left side, gall stone pain is more likely to be on right side. Still it's better to have the scan you are planning. To exclude the cause of pain you are putting in the question.
- Possibility of coronary vessel problem cannot be neglected.
I would suggest to get a stress test done to exclude it.With methodical way of testing for possible things the exact cause would be found, to be followed by expert care for the specific cause.
