Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is 75 years old and was a healthy child. But as an adult he was plagued with chronic sinus infections. Now he is unable to defeat them with antibiotics and an immunologist identified this disorder - probably not primary but acquired. His IGG and IGM are low but probably not needing treatment in her opinion; however the B Cells are sluggish and could be treated. She mentioned a blood product and I heard that once you begin infusions, you have to be on them for the rest of your life. I also heard that there are shots instead of infusions. Can the treatment be temporary or is it something that must be continued for life?
