Suggest Treatment For Chronic Sore Throat And Cough

my mother has been sick for almost 5 weeks, started with sore throat, coughing. Is now weak and always has the taste of salt in her mouth. Most food taste like salt to her. So she is not eating as much. has been to the doctors afew times and no answers

Understand your concern
Chronic sore throat along with cough mainly due to bacteria and virus. Please consult the MD doctor and get the throat swab culture,CBC, ESR, ASO titer to exclude the causes.
Take following advice
Advice:
Antibiotics: Amoxiclav, Tablet Dan-P, Tablet prednisolone if severe
Drink plenty of warm water, Use humidifier, Gargling with warm salted water, Tablet strepsils, syrup Tus -Q/tableet codeine
Do betadine gargle 3-4 time/day, proper rest
Complete the full dose of antibiotics.
