Suggest Treatment For Cold And Cough In An Infant

Hi my baby is 3 months old from last 1 and half months he is suffering from cough,cold and nostril chock up. I am visiting to doctor from first day of his sickness doctor has prescribe him Omnacortil,Maxtra,Mucolite,Coriminic Kofarest pd but his Nasal conjuction and couhg cold are not 100% clear. Because of this his vacancies are also getting delay.Plz help.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your infant has cough and cold which is severe in nature and it is due to chest infection and it could be due to throat infection as well.Most of the cough and cold in children is caused due to certain viruses. It generally has an allergic component which can be relieved by the use of antiallergics like Syrup Relent 2.5 ml once daily for a few days. It will also help in diluting the cough and provide relief . I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and get it examined completely like throat swab test a, viral culture test , allergy test and get X-ray chest done. Start treatment after proper examination. Start treatment after proper diagnosis is made out. Till then take proper course of antibiotics to you. Take steam inhalation , which will be very helpful .
