Suggest Treatment For Cold And Laryngitis Causing Difficulty To Swallow
I have woken up trying to clear my throat - I have have a cold and laryngitis. I am afraid to go back to sleep as I then have no control over whether I try to clear my throat. When I woke doing so, I was unable to swallow without great difficulty, and also had wheezy breath - unable to take in a good lungfull of air.I calmed myself and kept swallowing until I could breathe but still have the urge to clear my throat constantly. I am looking for advice
Firstly I would like to guide you that if you have wheezing, immediately visit a clinic or a doctor. You will need nebulisation (salbutamol). If wheezing is not there you can visit a doctor in your own time, but remember you may get wheezing any time.
I treat my patients with laryngitis ( no wheeze) by a course of antibiotic(azithromicin 500 mg once a day for three days) , antihistamines (levocetrizine 5mg two times a day) and bronchodilators (salbutamol) for three days.
Since these are prescription medicines, you should visit an ENT expert if available or a general physician.
I hope my reply will benefit you. Please write for follow up queries. I wish you good health. Kindly vote a thanks. Thank you
