Suggest Treatment For Cold And Sore Throat

Hi Doctor, I ve been suffering from cold and sore throat since last 2 days. My condition has become severe even after taking a couple of drugs (Dictofenac Sodium and Trioril which contains Cetirizine Hydrochloride, Paracetamol, Phenylephrine HCl, Zinc Gluconate) which was prescribed to me previously by our family physician. I have a flight to catch in 2 days. I don t know if I ll get better until then. Please suggest something. Regards, Shruti

Hi Shruti ,
I have read your query.
As per your clinical history it appears that you are having upper respiratory tract infection.
If I were your treating doctor, I would advice you Steam Inhalation , Decongestant nasal drops , Antiseptic Mouth Wash thrice daily & Macrolide Antibiotic azithromycin , continue Trioril . You will get better .
During flight swallow fluid repeatedly , avoid sleep while flying , use chew gum & Decongestant nasal drops .
