For the past 3 weeks I had the symptoms of a cold, and it got really bad and now I felt abit better but yesterday I started having a sore throat. Today it hurts to talk and swallow and even move my tongue. It feels like my throat is closing in and it sounds like I am gasping for air. I also have been having migranes.

As per your description, you were probably suffering from an viral Upper Respiratory Tract Infection. But recent symptoms of sore throat and pain on tongue movement might be of bacterial cause. Viral infection makes respiratory tract more prone to secondary bacterial attack.
You will probably need an antibiotic course of Amoxycillin + clavulinate or azithromycin or some cephalosporins, along with ibuprofen / paracetamol to manage the pain. You have to maintain oral hygiene and you can gargle with lukewarm saline water 3-5 times a day.
However, there is also chance of some serious infections of surrounding structure of throat (paratonsillar area), in which case you need urgent consultation with your doctor.
