Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was coughing for a month so the doctor gave me an inhaler. I went back since it didnt really help and they gave me pills to take for 5 days which did work. After 2 weeks i got a cold which got me coughing and sneezing i took medicine and it got rid of the sneezing but not coughing. It gets hard to breathe sometimes not doing really anything like just sneezing .the inhaler still has some left so i still use it to calm the coughing down every 4 hours .I was just wondering if you know what it can be ?
Hi. Sorry to hear about your complaints. Although a little more info may be needed to reach to a final diagnosis (like history of wheezing, any previous similar episode). However Seeing upon your description, it seems that you are having asthma complaints. That has been precipitated probably after an upper respiratory tract infection and symptoms are relieved by an inhalor. It would have been easier to assess further if you had mentioned the names of the tablets and inhalors. Now my advice at the moment is to see a pulmonologist (chest physician) to get worked up and investigated for a conclusive diagnosis and then managed accordingly. Wishing you the best of health. Regards.
