Hello,
You are suffering from cold, running nose, mucous in the throat and
sneezing. In spring, temperature changes are common due to
frequent cold and warm air, the weather is sometimes cold and sometimes warm, hence making people susceptible to
common cold. However, exposure to pollen, animal dander, dust, pollution, direct exposure to sunlight may trigger the symptoms of
allergy.
If it is cold it will resolve by itself as the natural immune system fights. You should get a lot of rest. Stay well hydrated. Take adequate amount of water and fluids. Take warm liquid or semi solid food and beverages. You have more symptoms of allergy then cold. Take antihistamine, once daily at bed time for 3-5 days. Taking decongestant , warm compression and expectorants may help.
Using a room humidifier is useful. You can take
acetaminophen, one stat when needed to reduce symptoms of inflammations and pain. Get clinically examined by a local GP, your mucous needs to be examined. If you are suffering from bacterial infection, you will need to get treated with a course of antibiotics. Stay away from addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
