Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a cold, but i have never had one like this. I have mucus, or fluids in my ears causing pain and my eyes are, what I call, gooky. I ve tried benedryl, mucinex, nyquil, nothing seems to knock it out. I have not had a fever with this. What would you recommend I continue to take?
As per your query you have symptoms of cold, pain in eyes which is due to upper respiratory tract infection leading to wheezing symptoms.
Well virus infection usually go away in few days by its own, however sometimes when infection become persistent it needs medical attention. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without any delay.
The doctor may order blood and sputum test and may prescribe antiviralacyclovir, antibacterial amoxicillin, decongestants along with anti-inflammatory medications.
Avoid taking outside fried food and cold carbonated beverages. For now take steam twice a day to relieve the congestion and drink warm water with one spoon honey in it .
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Harry Maheshwari, Dentist
