Suggest Treatment For Collapsed Lung Which Is Causing Difficulty In Breathing

My dad couldn t breathe this past Sunday and was put in ICU. After a cat-scan, bronchoscopy and such we found out he has a collapsed lung and had a heart attack (also found out he has diabetes; didn t know because he hadn t been to a doctor in 25 years!) They removed a pint of fluid from his lungs and said it does not look cancerous but we are awaiting the results from multiple tests. He smokes 4-5 packs a day, eats terribly and does not exercise. He is 62. I guess I am scared I will not ask the right questions? Also, not sure what is coming next. Any feedback, suggestions, encouragement would be appreciated. Sincerely, Tiffany

Hello,

Maybe, he cannot breathe at that time due to lung infection, diabetes, or a heart attack (maybe a small heart attack). Do not worry, wait for all investigations and everything will be fine.

It is a very small incident, it occurs daily everywhere, but people survive and get back to their daily life.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Chandra Shekhar
