Suggest Treatment For Conception While Suffering From Pelvic Inflammatory Disease
please in five months ago I was diagnosed of having Pelvic Inflammatry Disease with the pelvic pains, discharges, a significant amount of fluid in the pouch of Douglas and I was given some antibiotics to treat it.Within some few months I have been trying to get pregnant but to no avail. Please I need help because I want to get pregnant.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) can affect the process of conception by affecting the ovaries and the fallopian tubes. Ophoritis or infection involving the ovary can interfere with ovulation. Involvement of fallopian tubes can cause blockage and interfere with the ovum traveling towards uterine cavity or the hinder the movement of sperms for conception. Antibiotic treatment is the treatment of choice. After completion of course of antibiotic, a follow up with your gynecologist is required. An ultrasound of pelvic region may be required to assess the status of ovaries and fallopian tube. Cure of PID as revealed by disappearance of clinical features and normal ultrasound probably rules out PID to be the cause of difficulty in conception. You may consult your gynecologist for further assessment to find out the cause of difficulty in conceiving.
