Suggest Treatment For Congenital Cataract

Dear Dr. My name is Meghna Khanna. I am located in New Delhi India.I am going through a very bad phase. My son who is 3 yrs. had cogenital cataract. He was operated when he was 5 months old and cataract was removed. Retina was reflecting and as per the doc. he was required to undergo second eye surgery for lens replacement at the age of 3. This operation is due next week. But dr. has asked to patch his healty eye for 6 -8 hrs. daily so that his lazy eye can start coordinating. This will be a very grave problem as the kid is likely to resist it. I want to undestand and know that in this situation do i have any other option like eye transplant or some thing else.Pls. help me. I am distraughted.

if there is recurence of cataract then there is noway out except surgery. this you have to try or else the eye will develop amblyopia. you have noother option. there is nothing like total eye transplant. it is only corneal transplantation
