Suggest Treatment For Congested And Sore Throat

Hi today I went to the doctor because I have had severe sore throat for 5 days now. I'm also been congested, and they said I probably had a virus or sinus infection because my strep test was negative.

However, there is one symptom that's really bothering me. I've had a sore throat plenty of times, but my sore throat turned into a dry, pinching sensation. Is this typical for a virus or something more serious?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

As suggested by your doctors the most common causes of acute pain in the throat are viral or bacterial infections.
Post nasal drip can also be a cause of acute pain.

The dry painful sensation can occur in acute infections and should resolve with the infection.

The use of meds such as chloroseptic spray or covonia may help.

I hope this helps
