Hi, my son had congestive heart failure at 10 days old due to viral myocarditis, which was caused by enterovirus. We just had a check with his cardiologist and thankfully his echo indicated about 51% heart function - previously ejection fraction was 16% at admission. However the echo also indicated trivial tricuspid regurgitation. Understand its the result of heart failure, would there be any chance it would recover and if it remains at trivial, is any surgery required later in life? Further, I m bringing him the vaccinations which the cardiologist endorsed. But I m concerned given that his viral myocarditis came suddenly few days after a mild fever.
