Suggest Treatment For Constant Back Pain

I m waiting to hear back from my PCP at this time. I have a horrible constant pain in my back - left side, under shoulder blade towards my side. It s gotten worse over the past few weeks. It s much worse in the morning. I also cough up frothy, white phlegm in the morning but at any time throughout the day! If I laugh hard or overexert myself I have a coughing fit as well. Any suggestions just to calm my nerves? I came upon this site on accident, but glad that I found you. Thank you much.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
By you description of pain and cough, I think you are having pleurisy ( inflammation of pleura ).
Pain on coughing with expectoration are symptoms of pleurisy.
The causes of pleurisy are
1. Pneumonia
2. Pleural effusion.
3. Tuberculosis etc.
So get done chest x ray to rule out all these.
If x ray is normal than mostly you are having muscular pain.
Try to follow these steps for better symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid heavy weight lifting and strenuous exercise.
2. Avoid bad postures in sleep.
3. Take good painkiller and muscle relaxant.
4. Apply warm water pad on affected site.
