sudden pain in wrist for abt 4 months when trying to lift anything, even an empty cookie sheet. last night attempted to lift abt 1/2 lbs underside of wrist up, sudden stabbing pain and as time went on it became a very painful ache and a lump began to form on my pulse point. it has grown to abt 1 by 1/2 . the lump itself is not painful but my wrist continues to ache severely. Any ideas?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have constant pain in wrist . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like perform repetitive tasks with your hands such as typing , diabetes , gout , rheumatoid arthritis , osteoarthritis or psoriatic arthritis . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , x-ray , or physical examination by checking movements . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant along with anti inflammatory and vitamin supplement for quick recovery . For now restrict movements of wrist , apply warm compresses 10 minutes twice a day , avoid lifting heavy weight do gentle massage with almond oil and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
