Suggest Treatment For Constant Severe Headache For My Daughter
Hello, my daughter has had a severe headache for 3 weeks now off and on. We went to ER and had a cat scan and they say everything looks fine. Her head is now sore to the touch and her vision is starting to be affected. They gave her preventive medicine for migraines but it is not working. Nothing relieves the pain. Very concerned. She had a MRI today but was told she has to wait for the results and go back to the Doctor in August. What should we do very concerned mother
The symptoms seem to be related to migraine. I suggest giving her medications to relieve the headache such as Ibuprofen 400 mg. If it won't be effective you can use prescription painkillers such as Triptans. I also suggest ti avoid factors that can trigger the headache.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
