Suggest Treatment For Constant Stomach Pain
Hi. I have constant stomach pain. Mostly to the upper part and sometimes slightly to the right side. I have visit my GP recently. After a scan it is confirm I am clear from gallstones and the other organs are clear. It started about 6 months ago with the stomach pain about 1 day a week, but now for the last 3 weeks it hasn t left, only the intensity change. The pain is day and night. The doctor think it might be reflux and have increased my reflux medication to a higher doses for a week to see if it helps, but after 5 days there is still no difference. A blood test also revealed a slight iron deficiency. I am a 42 year male and live a general healthy lifestyle. Do I have to insist on a colonoscopy?

As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.
If symptoms persists better to consult a general surgeon and plan for an ultrasound scan.
