Suggest Treatment For Constipation And Bloated Abdomen
Recently took galvilyte for a colonoscopy. The prep was not completed because I had too much stool and it would not pass through my stomach in time. Now, since then my stomach is distended (bloated) sensitive and very gassy. I tried two enemas and some laxatives to relieve any remaining constipation . It has not helped
I would like to recommend 2 things to start with. First regarding the constipation, you may wish to try a dose of Magnesium Citrate. It comes as a liquid in a bottle of about 196cc, usually its flavored as lemon-lime or cherry. You want to drink the entire bottle (this is the usual dose with give patients, and you can mix this with any other drink you would like.
This should gets your bowels to start moving but to will likely feel a lot of stomach "churning" immediately afterwards. This is normal. In my experience this gets the bowels to start to move within a couple hours. Next for the flatulence, pick up some over the counter Simethicone, sometimes called Mylicon, this will decrease the gas that you are expelling and should help with the stomach pains as well.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
