Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am experiencing constipation. I m an active 49 year old woman and have a decent diet. I ve been taking Miralax for the last couple of weeks w/ minimal results. In the last week, I ve taken 3 laxatives. Again, w/ minimal results ... Constipation has been an on and off issue for years and can t seem to get to the root cause. Lately, the limited elimination w/ the supplements listed above, has still left me feeling bloated. Can you help me with this?
Constipation can be caused by different factors. So to get to the root of the cause I suggest to do a stool test and also check the amount of the liquid that you drink during the day.
Meanwhile, I suggest continuing using Miralax. I also recommend using a daily probiotic such as Enterogermina and eat a fiber-rich diet.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
